Understanding CPAP Coverage - The First 90 Days
If you’ve just started CPAP therapy, here’s what to expect in your first 90 days.
It all begins with your prescription and sleep study.
Once we receive them, our team verifies your insurance, handles any prior authorizations, and explains exactly what’s covered, so there are no surprises.
At your setup appointment, one of our therapists will walk you through everything: how to use your machine, clean it, and make sure your mask fits comfortably.
The first 90 days are known as your compliance period.
Insurance requires that you use your CPAP for at least four hours per night, on 70% of nights, during any 30-day stretch within the first 90 days.
Most patients reach that goal in about 30 to 45 days.
During this time, you’ll also need to see your doctor between day 31 and day 90 for a follow-up visit.
This confirms you’re using your CPAP and feeling the benefits - and it’s required to keep your coverage active.
Quick Tips for Success:
- Use your machine every night, even for naps.
- Contact us right away if your mask isn’t comfortable.
- Keep your equipment clean — it helps with comfort and compliance.
Once you’ve met compliance, your coverage continues automatically.
You’ll start receiving regular replacements — like masks, tubing, and filters — shipped right to your door.
At Sleeptech, we take care of the details so you can focus on what matters most — better sleep and better health.
